I really intrigued by Isl. We went to the Egyptian Museum which was overrun by Tourists and overcrowded by ancient artifacts in every nook and cranny they could stuff things in. No ceras allowed but I saw at least 5 sneaky tourist snapping away with their flashes off. The most ornate and elaborate object in the museum is not the Death Mask of King Tutankanum or Tut for short. It was the mask found on him when his tomb was discovered and the mask actually looks like Tut - it has very distinctive detailing. The museum was just full of ancient things it was like a warehouse with no sort of order things everywhere with no notes or signs. We also saw the mummies - weird. Dead people preserved and on display for me to see hundreds of years later. The museum idst its unorderly state was full of precious treasures and you got that feeling that even though we weren’t supposed to touch, when you felt the detailing of the writing, you were fulled with a sense of awe at what you were actually seeing and feeling something that is not really really old and was important back then and now. Carly, Em and I also went solo to Alexandria. Our first trip in Egypt with out our Tasi for help and guidance. We had quite the adventure and were glad to get back to Cairo later that night. Emma started off the day of hissing when she left her ticket homemade string instrument

behind at the counter at the train station and as we all walked away we heard a chorus of cat hissing and we all turned around and the crowd at the ticket counter were all hissing at Emma for her to come and get her ticket. This was our first introduction to the Egytpian hiss. I had vaguely remembered a hiss or two directed at Robbie or out of the corner of my ear, but the chorus of hisses were to been the first of many to come that day. By the way a hiss is not the Egyptian way of getting your attention or a form of leering. Anyway Emma got her ticket and as the train pulled in we were hissed again by a young very good looking police officer dressed in white as they do here and he hissed us and even though we didn’t ask for his help he looked at our train tickets and proceeded to make us follow him to our seats. By the way- his uniform was really tight and we could all see the detailing of his boxer shorts? We weren’t purposely looking, it was just something that we all saw. So that was our second hiss of the day. Alexandria was nice,

Jimmy is not the lead character in today’s SongStory tale. He’s different, a little bit like Tommy ( the Who’s) and will been just fine when the rest of the world catches up to him. He’s happy! Let us consider next the rim of the mouthpiece. Figure A [above] shows a mouthpiece with a desirable amount of roundness of the rim; it is especially well suited for beginners but is also used by many professional symphony players.
The various cup designs have been chosen for their ability to produce any sound desired by the player.
The different cup depths within one diameter allow the player to easily change mouthpieces to perform in a different context.
The backbore designs complement the cup shapes and further assist in the “fine-tuning” of the sound.

The WARBURTON system allows the player the opportunity to personally “balance” his equipment, a process that heretofore was not within grasp!
strident, warm, shrill, etc. - ALL of the sound and nuance of timbre, volume and pitch comes from the reed alone. The mouthpiece/saxophone-clarinet body acts like a passive filter/resonator. A fine instrument will dampen and filter out most of the unwanted elements of the sound while adding resonance to the desirable qualities of the vibrating reed.

In sum - THE REED IS A TYRANT which takes charge of everything. But at least we can limit its tyranny to a considerable degree, i.e. the vibrating range of the reed’s autonomy can be influenced by the embouchure, mouthpiece and instrument.

— Now to the GOOD STUFF —
REED OVERVIEW
pt to show you how to make a good bees wax mouthpiece for your didj. The mouthpiece of your didgeridoo will require constant maintenance, depending on how much you play your didgeridoo.

It’s shape will also have a large effect on your ability to play the didgeridoo So we recommend that you learn to form a good mouthpiece.

The best size of the mouthpiece depends on your mouth and we advise you change the shape and size of the inside edge of your mouthpiece until you find it easiest to play. The size and shape of the mouthpiece can make a big difference to the ease of playing or even the ability to get the base sound.

You can get yourself some beeswax from Hardware shops, Arts and Crafts shops or Health Food shops.
