However, not everyone agreed with me. “I don’t want to find anything out,” someone remarked. Instead of hearing bad news though, I got a compliment. As they admired the views of my heart and hepatitic circulation, the fellow remarked “He’s got great anatomy.” The resident nodded. “You’re right. He does.”

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

Why can’t this man get any props? He is a perennial all star and yet no one wants to keep him on their squad. His glove is a little questionable yet his bat is extremely potent nonetheless tonight he was traded to the Washingtion Nationals for Brad Wilkerson and some bozos. I think something to consider is will this trade make either team significantly better and after one second of thought the answer is no. Alfonso Soriano

The Congressional system is busted. The “imperial presidency” is not the greatest threat to American democracy, the virtually undefeatable House of Representatives is. JFK airport terror plot thwarted

It had been in the planning stages since January 2006. Via CBS:
6. Allison needs to tie a rope around Stagan’s waist to get to toe him around the ice. (Hockey, anyone?)

She told me that if the 4:30 didn’t show up, I could have the appointment. I thought “Gee, you mean I could have the appointment I made and you confirmed? Gosh.” But instead I read a three month old Newsweek and watched the 4:30 arrive.

I went to the counter and the Kristi told me the 4:30 had arrived. I told her I saw that. She apologized, and asked when I would like to reschedule. I told her I would take an appointment on Saturday. She checked the appointment book and said they didn’t have anything available this Saturday and offered next Saturday. I told her I wasn’t available next Saturday and I walked out.

I drove off in a huff and went to Wallyworld and made an appointment with their in-store optometrist for this Saturday. I’m going to see if Lens-Crafters has anything for this weekend. I really don’t want to have to go through life with Wal-Mart among my healthcare providers.

JFK airport terror plot thwarted

It had been in the planning stages since January 2006. Via CBS:

(CBS) NEW YORK Russell Defreitas, a U.S. citizen native to Guyana and retired airport employee was the mastermind behind a plot to destroy John F. Kennedy International Airport, kill thousands of people and trigger an economic catastrophe by blowing up a jet fuel artery that runs through populous residential neighborhoods, authorities said Saturday.

Defreitas developed his hatred for America a decade ago while working as a cargo handler at JFK airport. While working at the airport, he said he saw military parts being shipped to Israel that he thought would be used to kill Muslims. Last August, he began planning an attack along with three other Muslim men, one of which was an FBI informant.

But even then, aviation security experts said, fire would not have spread through the pressurized pipelines that bring fuel out to airplanes parked at gates.

“The probability that an explosion would travel through the pipeline and destroy targets along the tarmac is almost nil,” said Ron, now president of New Age Security Solutions in Rockville, Md. “The exception would be pipelines that are not in use and contain vapor.”

Jet fuel is similar to kerosene and, unlike gasoline, requires very high temperatures to burn. Unless it is in vapor or mist form — which can occur in a plane crash — jet fuel does not explode. Additives raise the flashpoint of jet fuel, further reducing the likelihood that it will burn, experts said.

Got that? The LAT is essentially saying that the thwarting of this plot really is no big deal, because if the terrorists had had a chance to carry it off, the damage would have been “limited.”
Two weeks from today and I will be married!

There is a real distinction between “knowledge” and “information”. Where there is knowledge mistakes and misunderstandings are handled. Where there is information only, they begin. The invitations have been sent, I finally finished writing my vows, and the honeymoon suite is booked. Now we have to buy our rings and my mom and I have 80 cupcakes to make! On Monday, Kevin and I met with our pastor to go over the details of wedding. It was so much fun to talk through the ceremony and make such definite plans. Sure, it’s two weeks away, but I’m thinking maybe it hasn’t sunk in yet! It’s hard to believe that, after such a rotten six years, life is tasting so sweet.
You see, this story is good news for the Bush administration and the war on terror, so the LAT has to spin it as yawn-worthy in response.
